The Education Commission
The St. Joseph Education Commission clustered with the commissions from St. Patrick and St. Elizabeth Parishes in 2010, after our 3-Parish Cluster was formed. Our commission is responsible for the catechesis and faith formation of members of all ages. Commission members work collaboratively on the following areas:
-Weekly Religious Education Program: We constantly evaluate all aspects to ensure that we are offering the best program for our students.
-Catholic School Education: We look for opportunities for our Catholic School students and our weekly Religious Education students to come together for various events, and to share resources, programs, and ideas.
-Sacramental Preparation: We determine whether our preparation programs for the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, and Marriage provide those who are to celebrate them with a sufficient understanding of their meaning and importance.
-RCIA: We strive to make sure the adults who wish to become full members of the Catholic Church are catechized and given an opportunity for reflection during their faith journey and discernment, as we seek to welcome them into our faith communities.
-Adult Faith Formation: We work together to provide quality opportunities for the adults of our parishes to come together to grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with Christ.
-Other Programs:: Sometimes we organize events, such as our Family Harvest/Halloween Party, that are simply opportunities for fellowship and fun, particularly in an effort to bring the people of our clustered parishes together.
We generally meet on the second Wednesday of each month, from September to May, and new members are always welcome. Please join us!!!
