Baptism
Baptism: Here at St Joseph Parish, we celebrate Baptism (generally) once a month. Please call the parish office to find out dates. In order to have a child baptized, parents must be registered, and attending for at least 3 months prior to scheduling a Baptism. Godparents of the child should be confirmed Catholics (though one may serve as a Christian witness), registered and regularly attending mass.

First Communion
First Communion: Children generally make their First Communion in the 2nd grade. Children must have completed at least first grade religious education (if not attending a catholic school) before beginning preparation for First Eucharist. Please phone the Religious Education Department (ext 2) for more information.

Confirmation
Confirmation: Students generally make their Confirmation in the 8th or 9th grades. Students must have completed all grades of Religious Education until that point and time. Children who have been baptized but never made their First Communion or Confirmation, should enroll in RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children). Please call our Religious Education Dept., for more information.

Weddings
Weddings: Couples who wish to marry in our church must be registered and attending at least six months prior to meeting with the pastor to schedule a date. At the time of scheduling a $250 deposit is required to ‘hold the date’ as well as part of your commitment and contribution to the church offertory. For more information regarding weddings, please phone the parish office (ext. 0).

R.C.I.A.
RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is for those who wish to join the catholic faith, or for those who are already baptized Catholic, but wish to know more about their faith. To learn more about RCIA, please phone St Patrick Parish to leave a message for Darlene Fritz or Wayne Carpenter (734) 285-9470. You may also email them at spsunrcia@yahoo.com

Funerals
Funerals: When a registered member of our parish has died, the family, most times, makes arrangements with a funeral home. General practice is for the funeral home to call us after meeting with the family. Please call the parish office, (ext 0) for further information.
